Najah Diop Receives Ausar Consulting Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

We congratulate her on this recognition of academic success, and creativity and accomplishment in entrepreneurship.

Highland Hall Waldorf School in Northridge, CA, congratulates 12th grade student Najah Diop for being the first recipient of the Ausar Consulting Young Entrepreneur Scholarship and Award.

Diop participated with the College Bound program at the USC Marshall School of Business last summer, where she demonstrated her potential as a promising entrepreneur with her start-up business, Sweet Nuances™, which creates dessert products for people with food allergies. The award for $10,000 is to be used to support the fulfillment of her vision.

“Sweet Nuances demonstrates the type of initiative and creativity we are looking to encourage and reward,” says Calvin Kennedy, Founder/CEO, Ausar Inc. “The concept of creating a dessert products business for people with allergies is a very original idea. It shows how she has taken a challenge and turned it into an opportunity that can be a blessing for many people.”

Diop will graduate Highland Hall in spring, 2013. She plans to study International Relations and/or Film when she starts college in the fall.

“We’re very proud of Najah for receiving this award,” adds Lynn Kern, Administrative Director at Highland Hall. “Her work demonstrates both the personal initiative and concern for others we strive to cultivate through Waldorf education.”
