Waldorf Education recognizes that studying a foreign language provides a broader world perspective. Our students begin studying Mandarin in the first grade and continue each year until they graduate. For Lunar New Year, the children in Grades 1-12 sang songs and recited poems, in Mandarin.
We extend our gratitude to the Lion Dance Troupe, Huang Da Xian (黄大仙), and the ladies from the Chinese Cultural Association who greatly contributed to making our Chinese New Year Assembly a memorable event. Our thanks go out to Xiang Li, our High School Mandarin Teacher, and Yuan-Ting Yang, our Lower & Middle School Mandarin Teacher, for organizing the event and for the great work they are doing in teaching our students this wonderful language and sharing its culture.
