This year the 2nd Grade offered a lovely dance performance during our Diwali Celebration. Other activities included a “dandiya” or stick dance, flower garland making and lighting oil lamps.
Diwali (Deepavali or Divali) is the Hindu festival of lights with its variations also celebrated in other Indian religions. It symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.”
At Highland Hall we embrace diversity and recognize the importance of celebrating and honoring festivals from many of our world’s religions.
