The Key to Healthy Development with Wiep de Vries, RN and Anthroposophical Nurse
Wiep de Vries, RN, will present the anthroposophical medical perspective on childhood illnesses, share immunological viewpoints regarding benefits of fevers, discuss the adverse effects that occur when illness is suppressed, and review the principles of healing to help guide parents in making informed decisions when a child needs extra support.
$10 suggested donation.
Saturday, Oct. 15 Workshop:
Learn practical skills and gain confidence in providing supportive and effective care for your children in times of illness and imbalance. With focus particularly on fever, colds, ear infections, chest congestion, asthma, and digestive disturbances, Wiep will demonstrate therapeutic applications such as compresses, wraps, poultices, steam inhalations and herbal baths. Ms. DeVries will also provide information about herbal and homeopathic remedies and offer insight as to how illness can be prevented, how symptoms can be reduced, and how recovery can be accelerated.
$25 workshop fee.
Wiep de Vries, R.N. worked for six years as an Anthroposophical nurse at a hospital in the Netherlands. From 1996 to 2004 she conducted Home Health Care workshops for the Waldorf schools throughout Southern California. For 7 years she was the director of The Los Angeles Alliance for Childhood (LAAC), a parent education organization and resource and referral center, that offered programs advocating practical methods to address the developmental needs of young children. Currently, Wiep
is working as a pain relief therapist specialized in Neuro-Soma Muscle Therapy.
